On November 11, 2016, Edison Middle School held a Veterans Day ceremony organized by Mrs. Putnam. Veterans from around the community were invited to take part in this very important event. Grades four through eight attended, as well as nearly 75 veterans. Volunteers from the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts presented the colors and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by principal, Mr. Cory Smith. Emily Moore, Stella Shover and Collin Smith read essay they had written about what America means to them. Mrs. Ludwig’s fourth grade music class preformed three songs to honor our veterans. Taps was played by Katelyn Chenevey during a moment of silence for those soldiers who never made it home. After the ceremony, veterans and their guests were invited to the cafeteria to enjoy cookies and a drink that was provided by Edison Middle School Parent Club. We were privileged to be able to honor these brave men and women.
