The Charger track teams opened their season on Monday, April 2, 2017, with a tri-meet against St. Mary’s and Oak Harbor. The girls final score was Edison 59 ½, St. Mary’s 27, and Oak Harbor 68 ½. First place efforts went to Aliyah Caporini in the 100 hurdles, Eliza Brickner, Emily Papazian, Paige Schaefer, and Lydia Woodyard in the 800 relay, and Jayla Medina who earned an Ace by placing first in all three of her events: the 100m, 200m, and long jump.
The boys’ team score was Edison 63, St. Mary’s 26, and Oak Harbor 66. First place efforts were earned by Aiden Yoder in high jump, Robert Bailey in pole vault, Garrett Scott in the 110 and 200 hurdles, the 400 relay team of Aiden Hayward, Will Bruns, Conrad Kluding, and Grant Ott, and the 800 relay of Hayward, Kluding, Ott, and Lincoln Meredith. Conrad Kluding also won the 200m to earn an Ace award.
